Why go invite only? Why were you ever Public?

At first, it was entertaining seeing all the spambots and idiots come in and spew bullshit. Yelling at them and calling them names was certainly fun. But recently, it's come to a point that we've been getting 5-10 new users (if you want to call them that) every day. FUCK OFF!

A lot of people have been complaining about being a public group for a while. We've always been a sort of closed-off community. The core members have always been the same people that have been around forever, and we haven't gotten many new actual non-annoying members out of the rando's coming in.

People's complaints were invasion of privacy, newcomers being able to see the entire group message history, spambots being annoying, new random people joining that don't speak english, and other people that share absolutely no interests with us. At the same time, we didn't want to exclude anyone from the community that could be a legitimate member that shares interests, isn't here to spam, etc.

Noah pondered the problem for 40 days and 40 nights...

He came up with a system that's a simple solution to the problem: you need to be vouched for in order to join. If nobody can vouch for you, you can submit your interest in the group to the admins, who will invite you if they feel you are a good fit for the community.

Holy Fucken Shit! GENIUS, RIGHT?

With a private telegram group, conversation can't be seen without being invited, past message history is hidden, and people that ragequit have to be vouched for and added back by someone - 'cause that was annoying too. The invite link won't be public or given to anyone. Anyone that is vouched for has to be added by the person vouching for them, so everyone knows who vouches for who.

We're hoping this is a good system for everyone.
